After spending a week and bit in paradise it will be hard to go back to the real world. Surfed everyday bar one, 6ft thick and 6ft thin waves. Fijian people are the nicest people, a guy called Manasa took us to his farm on the way up King Kong mountain. I'm sure we weren't far from the moon, it was so high we were only about 1/3 of the way up, the view was awesome. I have never been so chilled out because that's all you can do. Thank you to all the people here, good luck to the new village band that played for us you were awesome. We will be back one day.
P.S. at what size do you stop calling a fish a fish?

Most incredible island with incredible village people. The waves were a little out of my league however it was still very fun. Little Daku was not the best but did manage to catch some short rides. Met some very cool people. Saw a rainbow at night under a full moon, had food in a traditional Fiji village, stayed on the most incredible island with very cool vibes and flowers, Jason was the Bomb Host! Vinaka!

To All The Staff, Locals & Villagers Nagigia Isle Fiji I can't really do justice in words to describe the incredible experience this has been for me and for my group here. You have all been the most hospitable and friendly hosts to us. We have truly felt a part of your family. We loved every part of the trip from the wonderful meals, awesome fishing (30 kilo "Yellowfin" Brian caught) and surf (5 breaks, including all the grand time logged at King Kong's Left, Right and Cap. Taki (the best at 4'plus) bushwalk, cliff diving, snorkelling, beaches. We especially appreciate the organisation and bonding of the special place by Steve and Harley.

We love you all and can't wait to return. You are all part of our one big happy family now! We could not have asked for a better time. One and all, we thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of you. Your great big smiles, "bula's" and handshakes made us feel right at home here and made us feel like this the place we need to be now and forever.

We loved the village and getting to meet your families and others from grandparents to kids. We loved the church services and the wonderful sense of community and care you all have for one another. That is what the whole world needs to be about! "We Will Return!"
Love Signed

THE LAST NIGHT….The boards are packed, but we are not ready to leave. Looking back on our trip…The surf was good - 8 out of 11 days is not bad. Samu and the boatmen were great when the seas got rough plus they were patient waiting for hours in the boat when we surfed. Sevu knew where the fish were biting and Bryan landed the biggest fish of his life. The Fijian people are very friendly. We enjoyed visiting the village and the special entertainment they performed. The staff were great to be around. Melita, Marica, Jose, Manasa Nancy, Valerau, Tavenisa, Vole and Uncle George - Thank you for all of your hospitality - Rose, Harley, Taka - everyone! When the weather got warm & sunny we forgot the nasty weather we went through for the first week straight. This was an experience in life we will never forget ! Bye for now.

Your wonderful Fijian hospitality and paradise of an island made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. (Hopefully, more than once!) The food was wonderful. I'd try to smuggle Eddie home in my board bag, but I know how much he would be missed. Thank you for being such good friends… don't change a thing… we'll be back to see you soon.

Sarah Lord - New York
Well known Yoga teacher Sarah Lord says:

Nagigia is idyllic, the surrounding waters are the most resplendent shades of blue, our bure overlooked a magnificent healthy coral reef and blue starfish smiled up at us every morning. The accommodations and landscaping of the resort are graceful and serene.

Visits to the local village and staff on the island reflect the warm spirit of Kadavu's residents. .....chef served an excellent array of meals and especially enjoyable were the fresh fish. I highly recommend the resort.

TOM PABST - California Group

... we are all in agreement that this was one of the best if not the best surf trip we have taken. This is really saying something as we have been all over the world and to Fiji twice before. Your island is just the best and you and the staff were just great.

We came back on the plane with a bunch of surfers who had spent the same week at Tavarua or Namotu (where many of us have been before) and we felt so smug because we knew we had gone to the better place. We are telling everyone who will listen what a great place you have.

Many thanks to you and your wonderful staff for making our group's trip a major success. We'll be back!

CARLY SMITH - Young Pro surfer, Model

I never imagined having such a good time ...... I surfed the best waves I have surfed anywhere and I now have favourite break - the Nagigia Island left hander (King Kong left). My neighbours from just down the road have just been to my house to look at my photos from Nagigia ..... they are going there in a few weeks. I have already started planning my next trip to Nagigia Island with a few close friends and family for next year, already I can't wait.

Anthony Sasso - New York
Nagigia Island is a beautiful place to visit. World class snorkeling right at your doorstep. Friendly staff and villagers anxious to help and consistent surf when other places in Fiji weren't working. We had a great time here.

Ralph and Cathy Gray - Honolulu
My wife and I loved our 12 day stay on Nagigia Island, we were one of the first guests to stay on the island since it was open, so we felt special getting to try out all the new resort facilities. There was perfect right beginner wave that we surfed each morning at high tide which was perfect for long boards and loose short boards, my wife Cathy really loved it. The ride is a quick 30 ft long peeler, then it fades back and rolls for 100 yards. After that I had my choice of surfing Kong, a 40 yard fast and hollow left that on two of our days there, was up to 15 ft in the face and spitting, it kind of reminded me of a mix of Pipeline on the north shore and Rocky lefts, quick hollow and on the inside shallow. If the winds were good we could surf the near by right which was like rocky rights but pealed for 50 yards with the right swell direction.

We also traveled 1 hour to a great right hander that pealed for 100 yards. We were the only people out at every spot, awesome! This wave was hollow and rippable, you could get barreled or just crack the lip, kind of a mix between Backdoors and Rocky Rights but longer. Depending on the winds and swell there were several spots to choose from. The resort needs to figure out these spots wind, swell, tide and the best time to travel to each one, and they need to get permission from the chiefs of the village, when they do this, Nagigia will be the hands down the best surf resort in the world. Where else can you surf by yourself at 5 different perfect spots? with a beginner spot for your significant other or kids?

Some of our better moments were spent visiting the village that is 600 yards away across the reef, the people were so nice, and they treated us like family. It was nice to see how a Fijian village really looked, and how the people lived day to day. I felt like I was home in Hawaii, only 100 years ago. The people fished each day and grew taro for there basics food needs. The Rugby game we watched was very exciting, and I was able to get some great pictures of the players. One of our most memorable experiences was drinking kava with the resort workers, fun stuff but not the tastiest of liquids, but the tradition and the camaraderie was all that mattered to me.

We also spent many afternoons fishing, Cathy caught 6 fish trolling while on Nagigia , and I caught 4 good size Papio (jack trevely) right from the beach with my whipping pole all in the 5lb range. The diving is also great with crystal clear water all around you. The only thing that I wish they had, was scuba diving, that would be a great thing to add, and I'm sure they're thinking about it already. If your into a great, relaxing, fun surf filled trip, Nagigia is the place, and Cathy and I look forward to returning soon. Mahalo and Aloha.

Thank you for showing Russ, Jake and I a wonderful time during our stay in Nagigia. We had a marvellous time and I still have not recovered from the breath-taking beauty of your island. Please give my best to your staff.
