This was the catch from 1 hour 15 mins fishing on the 15 January 2002. They were out to go surfing, saw the birds and the fish and picked up the rods. Anglers Ken and Sevu with 9 Yellow Fin, largest 41 lb.

The ocean waters near Nagigia Island has world class deep sea small boat fishing. Species caught include: Yellow Fin Tuna, Barracuda, Skip Jack, Albacore, Wahoo, Walu, Mahi Mahi, Striped Black/Blue Marlin.

Nabukelevu Boats provide Yamaha type 23 ft and 25 ft open fiberglass boats. Keen anglers are recommended to bring their own fishing gear. Nagigia Island has very limited game fishing equipment for those anglers who did not bring their own equipment.

Only half a mile offshore is a deep trench of about 3,000 feet. Great fishing is as close as 5 minutes from Nagigia Island.

Cape Washington, Kadavu Fishing: US$25 per person per hour, minimum 1 hour, for up to 3 fishermen. Boat and fishing guide charges are invoiced with your bar bill.
