Surfers

Any surfer wishing to stay and surf within the Cakaulevu Reefs of Nabukelevu-ira will need to stay at Nagigia Island Resort.

The landowners of Nagigia Island Resort are Nabukeleuv-ira Village and daily surfing fees are paid directly to these landowners by Nagigia Island Resort guests.

Surfers from other areas or from boats, wanting to surf the Cakaulevu Reefs of the Village of Nabukelevu-ira, must visit the Nabukelevu-ira Village Representative Manasa Naqura or Nacani Veitamani, Chief's brother, at Nagigia Island Resort to check the volume of surfers and pay the surfing fee, before you surf.

Guests of Nagigia Island Resort enjoy the privilege and privacy of these Cakaulevu Reefs because of DIRECT remuneration paid to the village by way of surfing fees, village employment and general lease fees by Nagigia Island Resort. KING KONG LEFT is a daily used surf break, extensively used by Nagigia Island Resort guests, so to surf this break directly effects the livelihood of the village people. For this reason the Village of Nabukelevu-ira, as owners of this reef, restrict outside use of this surf break, and you cannot surf there. Sometimes, other breaks are working and Manasa Naqura or Nacani Veitamani will inform you which break/s you may use.

Before you surf, you must pay to Manasa Naqura or Nacani Veitamani at Nagigia Island Resort, F$20.00 per person per day, for permission to surf the other parts of the Cakaulevu Reefs of Nabukelevu-ira. They will require your name for the Surfing Report that goes to our village meeting each month. You will receive a receipt from our village for your money. All the money is used ONLY for our village community projects to help improve the quality of life of our village people.

Scuba Diving

All scuba divers wanting to dive the Cakaulevu Reefs of the Village of Nabukelevu-ira must go to Nagigia Island and ask for the Village Representative Manasa Naqura or Nacani Veitamani, Chief's brother. He will advise you some of the good places to dive.

You are not to take/kill any fish, shellfish or crayfish or harm any coral life - ONLY look.

You must prepay F$20 per person per day at Nagigia Island to Manasa Naqura or Nacani Veitamani to dive. They will require your name for the Diving Report that goes to our village each month. Boat Captains

Boat Captains wishing to have their boats stay at the Village of Nabukelevu-ira are required to follow Fijian custom and present a Sevusevu to the Mayor of the Village or my representative.  However, this does not entitle your crew/clients/passengers to go surfing or diving.  See surfing and diving notices above.  We will endeavour to have your crew/clients/passengers enjoy surfing at our reefs provided it does not negatively affect the guests of Nagigia Island Resort.  Divers are requested not to take/kill any fish, shellfish or crayfish or harm any coral life - ONLY look.  All the money is used ONLY for our village community projects to help improve the quality of life of our village people.
